If you are excited about enabling knowledge, advancing access to information, and shaping the future of higher education, we encourage you to apply.KEY PERFORMANCE AREASAcquisitions administration, procurement support, serials control, and maintenance of collection integrity. Verify holdings, compile order lists, initiate requisitions via the finance system, place orders through the library management system, and validate and process invoices and receipts. Assist in managing print serials and participate in annual stocktaking and systematic weeding of the print collections, and perform any other reasonable responsibilities as assigned by superiors.A Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Library and Information Science, with five (5) years of experience in acquisitions, preferably in an academic or research library environment. Proficient in library management systems (particularly inventory and acquisitions modules), as well as Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong organisational and communication skills, basic mathematical proficiency, and a thorough understanding of acquisitions workflows, procurement procedures, serials management, and record-keeping practices are required. Meticulous, self-driven, and capable of working both independently and within a team.All qualifications must be certified by the Police within the last three (3) months, and all foreign qualifications must be validated by the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA). The normal retirement age is 65. Non-Namibian candidates who are deemed suitable for appointment will be offered a contract of five (5) years.Only applications submitted via the Direct-Hire system will be considered.
