This role is essential to supporting the department’s practical and fieldwork activities, ensuring the smooth operation of survey equipment, and contributing to the academic development of students.Key Performance AreasCoordinate the department’s storeroom, which houses survey instruments and other technical equipment; maintain and/or arrange for the maintenance of all departmental equipment, allocate equipment to students and staff during practical sessions and fieldwork; ensure that all items are returned in good condition; assist students and lecturers during survey practicals and fieldwork, provide training on the use of surveying instruments, support software training in computer laboratories and perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by superiors.Job RequirementsA Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Geomatics or a related qualification. Previous experience as a tutor/student assistant. A good undergraduate achiever with potential for a Graduate Talent Acceleration Programme. Excellent English communication skills (oral and written). Knowledge and experience in total station and GNSS surveying, data processing and drafting.
