Shape the Future.The Risk Management function at NUST plays a key role in supporting the University’s mission by fostering a risk-aware culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and protecting institutional interests. Through collaboration across departments, the office identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks that may affect the University’s strategic objectives. We are seeking a qualified and experienced Risk Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic academic environment and help strengthen the University’s risk management framework.?Key Performance AreasSupport the implementation and execution of the University’s risk management processes, working collaboratively with various departments to ensure risks are accurately documented in the risk register, a risk-aware culture is promoted, and compliance with regulatory and institutional requirements is maintained. Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures, conduct risk assessments, and identify potential areas of risk. Collaborate with department heads and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies and monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of these strategies. Develop and deliver risk management training to University staff and faculty, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills. Stay abreast of current developments in risk management to ensure the University’s policies and procedures remain up to date. Coordinate with insurance providers to ensure adequate coverage for identified risks and perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by superiors. ?Job RequirementsA Bachelor’s Honours degree (NQF Level 8) in Risk Management, Law, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field, with at least five years’ experience in risk management. A strong understanding of risk management principles and best practices, and the ability to apply these effectively within organisational settings. Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP), or similar will be an advantage.
