
Environmental Control & Community Liaison Officer

- Monitor and enforce compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and internal policies.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate environmental impacts.
- Oversee waste management, water quality, air emissions, and biodiversity protection programs.
- Coordinate environmental reporting and documentation for regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
- Support the implementation of Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and rehabilitation strategies.
- Collaborate with technical teams and the Board to integrate sustainability into operational planning.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and local communities.
- Facilitate community consultations, grievance resolution, and stakeholder feedback mechanisms.
- Develop and implement community engagement strategies aligned with corporate social responsibility goals.
- Organize public meetings, workshops, and outreach initiatives to promote transparency and trust.
- Track and report on social performance indicators and community development commitments.
- Support negotiation and communication around land access, compensation, and local employment.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Social Sciences, Public Relations, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in environmental management and/or community engagement, preferably in mining, infrastructure, or energy sectors.
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, impact assessment processes, and stakeholder engagement frameworks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluency in local languages and cultural sensitivity is a strong asset.
