- Oversee the planning, execution, and conclusion of audit engagements, including managing risk and ensuring compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
- Manage engagement economics, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met, while communicating significant issues to clients, Engagement Managers, and Partners.
- Leverage data-driven audit tools and analytics to deliver high-quality audits for financial institutions, including banks and insurance companies.
- Develop a deep understanding of client needs within the financial services sector, proactively identifying opportunities to better serve banking and insurance clients.
- Build, foster, and maintain strong client relationships, providing strategic insights that add value to clients in the financial services sector.
- Cultivate and manage team relationships and dynamics to develop highest performing teams for audit engagements, while empowering and mentoring trainee accountants during engagements.
- Actively contribute to generating new business opportunities and expanding client networks, particularly within the banking and insurance industries.
- Enhance EY's brand in the Namibian financial services market through thought leadership and a commitment to quality.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(Nam)) or ACCA member.
- Thorough knowledge of current auditing techniques, particularly in banking and insurance contexts.
- In-depth experience with the application of IFRS standards, including IFRS 9 (Financial Instruments) and IFRS 17 (Insurance Contracts).
- A proven track record of audit experience within an audit firm or leading financial institutions.
- 3 to 5 years of post-articles audit experience, preferably in financial services.
- A strong understanding of risk-based auditing, control strategies, and regulatory compliance specific to banking and insurance.
- Experience with Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM) procedures.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing financial institutions in Namibia, including Bank of Namibia and NAMFISA requirements.
- Proficiency in managing teams and projects, with a focus on delivering exceptional client outcomes.
