Letshego BankVACANCY: Head of CreditDuty Station: WindhoekPURPOSE OF ROLE:To be responsible for Organisation wide oversight of credit and leading the strategy for Credit Risk as well as directing independent comprehensive credit review and risk assessment of the customer risk profile and credit decision making for all segments and products of the Organisation. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.CRITICAL DELIVERABLES / CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

To support the country to develop policies, procedures and limits for impairment provisioning, write-off and arrears management.
To maintain and update Credit Risk RCA for the Country and monitoring and reporting on the country collections status.
Maintain a tracker of all issues raised in Audits, Business Reviews and Regulatory Audits pertaining to Credit aspects.
Embed and ensure compliance with Bank of Namibia (BID-2) and NAMFISA regulations pertaining to credit and any other related guidelines (including accurate completion of credit-related statutory returns).
Ensure and coordinate closure of all Internal and Regulatory observations at least 45 days before the due date.
Oversee the effective functioning of credit risk mitigation processes and structures and arrangements (including collateral management where applicable).
Support and develop in-country Collections and Recoveries strategies and performance assessment.
To support the Country Management Committee (CMC) in the effective administration of the credit facilities in accordance with the mandate as prescribed in the credit risk policies and guidelines.
Ensure the compliance with banks credit risk appetite, international best practice and local regulatory requirements.
Continuously improve the credit administration processes with the intention of adding value to business whilst introducing practices that are fit for purpose in line with leading global practices.
To provide recommendations on achieving set loan book performance and impairments targets.
Formalization of all credit approval, monitoring, collections and arrears management activities for the country, including: establishment of credit underwriting policy covering all lending activities.
Establishment of the risk appetite and the development of a set of Key Risk Indicators to monitor and report risk levels against tolerance thresholds.
Development and coordination of daily / weekly / monthly / and other periodic actions and related reporting.
Monitoring and reporting on the country collections status.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

A degree in finance / Business /Economics or similar.
Master Degree would be added advantage.
Possession of clear thought and expression, both verbal and written, together with the ability to mix and converse freely with all levels of management.
The Job Holder should be able to identify and assist with strategies to maximise benefit from opportunities that arise to give some input to upside benefits to the business.
Minimum of 5 years experience in Credit Risk Management at a senior level.
Experience lending to Micro and Small Enterprises MSE.
Expert knowledge of banking regulations.
Knowledge of banking operations and procedures.
